Are you an adventurous young teacher with qualified teacher status and a burning desire to explore the world? Have you ever considered teaching in England?

Teaching abroad is a gateway to not only shaping young minds but also embarking on a journey of personal growth and exploration. And if you’re considering the move from the stunning landscapes of Australia or New Zealand, a UK teaching job should definitely be on your radar.

The UK – Where adventure meets education

Teaching in England

The United Kingdom is more than just a destination; it’s a canvas painted with history, culture, and endless opportunities. The perfect destination for a young adventurous teaching professional.

UK Teaching jobs provide you with a chance to experience a world class education system. The innovative teaching methods and exposure to different cultures will not only enhance your skills as an educator but also broaden your worldview.

And the best part? You’re not just limited to the classroom…

Europe at Your Doorstep

One of the biggest advantages of teaching in the UK is its ‘strategic’ location for travel. As an intrepid traveler, you’ll be just a stone’s throw away from the European continent.

The efficient transport systems make it incredibly easy to hop on a train, plane, or ferry and find yourself in a completely new cultural landscape.

Imagine spending your Easter break strolling through the romantic streets of Rome, summer vacation sunbathing on the beaches of Greece, or the winter holidays skiing in the Swiss Alps.

If you’re an experienced road tripper and enjoy exploring behind the wheel, London to Edinburgh is actually less of a drive than Melbourne to Sydney.

Europe offers an astonishing variety of experiences, and you’ll have the chance to curate your own adventure during each school holiday (between 13-15 weeks per academic year!)

teaching in England

Who is in demand?

There is currently a shortage of teachers in England and Northern Ireland. The UK government welcome New Zealand and Australian teachers.

Those with a sought-after subject specialism (e.g. maths, science, English) will certainly be eligible.

What is qualified teacher status?

This is important when gaining UK teaching experience to ensure you’re paid to scale and have opportunities to work in all types of schools and work long-term in the UK. Your teacher training as NZ or Australian teachers will enable you to be awarded QTS. For example, a teacher coming to work in England who has gained “Proficiency” in Australia, will be able to apply for QTS in the UK.
