About the centre

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Diploma Educator to join the team at this not-for-profit community-based long day care centre in Campsie. The centre focuses on supporting children to learn, grow and develop within a flexible play based learning environment, providing children aged 6 weeks and 5 years with the tools to confidently flourish in their education journey.
About the role
As a Diploma Educator, you will work within a specific room or group of children and provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children to learn and grow. Main responsibilities will include:
- Undertake the development and implementation of early childhood program that will contribute to the educational and developmental outcomes for children
- Closely observe children’s behaviour, interactions, and achievements to assess their individual progress
- Ensure the safety, health and wellbeing of children
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment, encourage positive peer interactions, and help children understand and manage their emotions
- On behalf of Company, foster good relationships between the parents, staff and other organisations
- Complete observation records and update charts through an online communication system

You must
- Be a resident of Australia with full working rights
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education (or ACECQA equivalent)
- Current Child Protection, First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis
- Experience working within a childcare environment
- Sound understanding of the EYLF
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Working with Children Check number
- Provide professional references from most recent employer
