Job description
An Early Learning Centre offers an approach to education catering to the emotional, physical, cognitive, and spiritual needs of each child in their care. Their programs prepare children for life and nurture children of all ages to live happily as members of a diverse community. From babies and to preschoolers, they learn acceptance and understanding of all people and beliefs.
Skills and Experience
- Involved in supporting a team which provides high quality early childhood education and care.
- Working in accordance with the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Law and applicable regulations and the National Quality Standard for Early Education and Care.
- Working in accordance with the Code of Ethics.
- Working in accordance with the services Code of Conduct.
- Implementing and upholding the services’ philosophy while undertaking all duties.
- Support the implementation of contemporary, research-based practices at the service.
- Apply a variety of practices were directed to do so.
- Maintain and uphold Workplace Health and Safety.
- Maintain and uphold privacy and confidentiality.
- Providing ongoing support and assistance to other staff in all areas of service operation.
- Development of a sound knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework and the National Quality Standards.
- Ensure they/you have a sound understanding of the expectations outlined in this document to enable work performance to be executed according to our service standards; and
- Undertake other duties requested by the Director.

Essential Criteria:
Diploma in early childhood education or Children’s Services or working towrds diploma an equivalent qualification or, alternatively, this employee will possess, in the opinion of the employer, sufficient knowledge or experience to perform the duties at this level.
- Proven experience in a similar role or demonstrated natural ability.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Understanding of DET Regulations, National Quality Standards, Frameworks and Early Years Learning Framework
- Knowledge of Child Safe Standards and Child Protection
- Passionate about Early Childhood Development and the importance of high-quality Early Years programs
- Ability to attend monthly staff meetings.
- Enthusiasm towards personal training and learning opportunities.
- Ability to work a variety of shifts between 7.00am and 6.00pm, Monday – Friday
- Current First Aid/CPR qualification
- Current Anaphylaxis and Asthma training
